Our foundation teams up with Dancers Give Back each year to donate gift cards to each inpatient at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. We are incredibly grateful to Mary Alice’s Dance Studio in Orchard Park and all their amazing volunteers that make this event possible. This year, we were blown away by the amount of support and money raised! We raised a total of $95,000 and were able to give each of the 134 inpatients $200 in gift cards totaling $27,000 donated. That is double what we’ve been able to give in the past years!
Not only has the support been overwhelming, but the phone calls and correspondence we’ve received from the inpatients have been especially rewarding. It’s been amazing to hear that our gift cards uplifted the spirits of patients and families during this tough holiday season. One patient named Vincent had called our foundation and told us “it was nice to know someone was thinking about us during this time”.
To patients like Vincent and many others, your generous donations and volunteered time is incredibly valued. The kind words and smiles on these patients’ faces make everything worthwhile. We are so happy to be able to spread some holiday cheer and help families in their powerful fight against cancer, and we are glad to share it with you!
Hearing all the positive feedback from the inpatients is heartwarming. Everyone should feel very accomplished and proud to be making such a positive impact and letting those who may feel forgotten and isolated know that we are thinking about them and supporting them every step of the way!
