Hirsch family, My heart breaks for you. As hard as Jacquie has been fighting, I know that you have been fighting too – to try everything possible to tackle this disease, to make her as comfortable as possible, and now, hardest of all, to let her go when she was ready. And to do it all with such grace. You are an inspiration. But I think her big brother said it best – that Jacquie has taught all of us, even strangers, in her struggle more than she ever could have taught us if she had lived the long life she deserved. And I believe more than anything, that once the pain subsides somewhat, and once you’ve recovered from the exhaustion of this long fight yourselves, that you, Jacquie’s extended family, friends, and the strangers she has inspired will do more for fighting leukemia and other forms of cancer than anyone can ever imagine. And there’s no way to honor Jacquie’s memory better than that. Just let us know when you’re ready. We will be.

Jacquie,I have never met you, but I have seen firsthand how many people’s lives you have touched. So many people love you and care so much about you that I find myself grief stricken and crying for them and for myself, that I never had the chance to meet you in person. God had bigger plans for you than you could fufill here on earth. God Bless you and keep an eye on all of us.~Aaron

Hi Jacquie and family, I am a student at Geneseo and heard about her story last year. I did not know Jacquie but have been following her fight for a couple months now. I never quite knew the right words to say but I will try. I just wanted you all to know how much you have touched my life. Everyday I pray for Jacquie, a complete stranger to me, that she would continue to fight so I might get the chance to know this wonderful person. Her story has been such an inspiration to me and the Hirsch family’s optimism, faith, and grace has made me take a look at my own life and how I should be living it. I have always been a believer in positive thinking and have been sending all my positive thoughts her way. Please know that all of you have touched so many people. Let this give you hope and comfort in these hard times. Keep believing, always.

Torey, TJ, and Sharon, I was lucky to have known your beautiful daughter, sister. I prayed, I BELIEVED. I will pray for your strength, for a path to lead and guide you. I just know there has to be a reason for all of this, there has to be. Why. We now have a beautiful angel watching over all of us. One that has a smile that makes each and everyone of us smile. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. My heart is broken for you.

Jacquie — You are so strong and amazing. Keep holding on and fighting like an all-star. The other day I saw a girl with a really cute tinkerbell necklace when I was in Barnes and Noble and obviously I thought of you and sent you SO much positive energy. I am filling my head with thoughts of sunny days and IB nights and the great feeling you get after a run and stomach butterflies and everything happy and good and I’m sending that happiness right on to you. Keep being AMAZING everyday. I believe in you. Love Malone

Hi Jacquie, I left your mom a voice mail about a dream I had the other night. I wanted to share it with you…because I liked the outcome and I believe in it! I woke up wide awake at like 3 am too a dream which was myself and Alicia (I have never met her but I guess since she and Michael have the message banter back and forth I feel like I know her). Anyway, she and I were visiting you at the same time and suddenly you were sitting up, smiling , laughing and BETTER!! and I had to run out of your room to get your mom (since in my dream you could only have 2 visitors at a time). I liked that dream and this is my wish for you, to be better!!!!!! Sara (and I promise I will not flood your message book with any more messages from me today, but I will still be thinking about you and your family!

Dear Hirsch Family- Today was the day for the WNHS Gymnastics Car Wash (I know, what a crappy day for a car wash!). So many girls had their Believe Bracelets on, and all of us were thinking of all of you. I think just about every girl checks your website daily- even the new girls who have never met you. Meg and I are praying hard- like so many of the other girls and their families.
