Jacquie, Shannon made the first three days of school dspite lousy blood counts and more chemo next week. When I saw the PIC line flopping out of her shirt I remembered the day you came in to visit Shannon on 6 North and carefully explained to her how her PIC line would look and feel. Because she never had one before, she was terrified. You may not have had a chance to teach in a classroom this year, but your special tutoring of a scared little girl is a sure sign of a special gift you have for loving children. You are a great teacher! When recently shopping for a gift for you, Shannon declined to purchase a particular item because it was “not special enough”. I could not agree with her more. I am thinking of you each minute and praying constantly as I have done for almost a year now. You have more people who love and admire you than anyone I have ever known. Jacquie, You first got into my heart through your friend, Ashley. In no time at all you stayed there. Your name is all over Western New York and beyond. Dear Hirsch Family – I am probably one of hundreds out there that have read every single update that you have ever posted….yet we have never met. Your daily updates are so well worded and so encouraging that even in the face of all this ugliness that your family is enduring, somehow you are able to give inspiration to others.
