Hi Jackie, I read your updates daily to keep track of your progress. I can only imagine the frustration that you are experiencing along with many other emotions I am certain. “They say” that there is always someone worse off than ourselves. I suppose that it would be next to impossible for you to imagine that. You are a true hero, however. Even if you don’t see it within yourself. I can see it. You have rallied many different occasions over your circumstances. Not to mention that you have been such an incredible human being for so many of us to model after. You have brought hope to so many children at Roswell as you spen time with them. You have humbled many into realizing that the trivial things in our every day lives are not so important to concern ourselves with. I am convinced as I review different experiences that I have encountered in my own life, that everything has it’s own purpose for happening (not to inflict suffering, but to create strength and courage). You have brought an unthinkable bond to your family unit. BELIEVE that there are reasons for what’s happening…not the bad stuff that you go through…but for the good that can come out of what you have brought to others. BELIEVE that this horrific disease has taught you great strength to fight and have the courage to do so. BELIEVE that once this fight ends, and you can life a normal life that you will have given amazing lessons to others. BELIEVE that you will be able to achieve anything in your life because of the experience that you have endured. Jacquie, you are loved by many….even by people that don’t even know you. YOU ARE STRONG…YOU ARE COURAGEOUS…AND YOU ARE A HERO. Don’t ever stop BELIEVING. No one else is. God’s Blessings to you always, Jennifer
Sharon, I feel your pain and frustration radiating off the page. I can’t even imagine what it must be like to watch someone so undeserving of all this pain suffer so badly. Thoughts and prayers are with you both always. You are so strong and you hold your head so high – we will NEVER stop believing nor waiting for those “magical” counts to come in. We all just have to keep on keepin on. Love you both – keep those spirits up. xo, Nicki
I know of Jacquie through my daughter Jess, a friend from Geneseo. Our son received his second call from the bone marrow center asking for him to be a donor, this time for a young 20 year old girl. He registered during Jacquie’s drive in December. Later that day at our daughter’s recital in OP, a table was set up selling Jacquie’s bracelets. So though your spirits may be faltering, know that the community, people you don’t even know are aware of your situation, and are praying for you.
Good Morning Jacquie, I hope this day finds you feeling better and with a hungry tummy!, Eat eat eat! We are all so proud of you ! You are doing it ! Clapping Praying BELIEVING Missy
Good Morning All- Jacquie- I am so very proud of you for walking your 10 miles…….. I hope that with each new day you will feel better…. We think of you each day and pray that you will get to go home for some homecooking!!!! WE BELIEVE IN YOU EVERYDAY JACQUIE!!!!! Lynn :)))
Enough with the not eating, I’m in California this week. So figure next week for an encore of the Lobster dinner. Call me with the day, and no is not an option. Keep fightin.
Hello love, So when I first read the update about the 330 laps I thought that he wanted you to do it all in one day!! And I thought, “boy that’s not fair, there’s not a whole lot of people who could do that!” (Although you being the strongest person there is probably could) anyways I finally figured it out and thought that was much fairer although still an amazing feat. Which OF COURSE you finished faster than anyone thought possible. Just goes to show how ridiculously amazing you continue to be!!It’s deep into community Relay for Life season so I’ve been to several in the past few weekends – always lighting a luminaria for you and telling everyone I can about you so you will be in their prayers. I love you and am thinking of you and your family ALL THE TIME! Keep on defying gravity miss because you can and will beat this!! The time where you will be cancer free gets closer day by day. Love you lots. Always BELIEVING, <3 Sades
Hey Jacquie!!! Just wanted to send a line to remind you that I’m always thinking of you…it’s getting super hot down here and I’m kinda wishing we had that kiddy pool out front! Miss you so much and glad to hear you appetite is getting a little better…stay strong and hopefully next time I’m in the Buff I can come pay you a visit (or leave you an annoyingly long voicemail where I never actually get to the point until the end…b/c I’m super good at those :)) Love you!!!
Hey Jax! Congrats on completing your laps! Pretty soon you’ll be ready for a 5K! haha ok maybe not, but hey you never know with a little practice.. I started a job bartending this week so I’ve been channeling my own “inner Jacquie Hirsch” and when in doubt I’ve asked myself WWJD (what would Jax do?) and well, so far so good! Anddd Casey put me on assignment to learn what’s in a sex at kelly’s..I told her you would know more than I would be able to figure it out haha. Thinking of you always!!! (and BELIEVING!!!) love & miss you!
Sorry jacquie but I must communicate with Michael once again through your site….thank you dear brother for the clarifications and YES I have been known to be a bit slow on the uptake or draw, whatever the saying is. Keep laughing and smiling Jacquie!!!! You know Michael and I are some of YOUR biggest fans and you sure have a lot out there! Take care of you- Sara
Hi jacquie, Just hoping your appetite has improved a bit and that maybe some things are sounding better to you. I had to share a story that might make you and your mom smile. I sure hope your mom is better at using a blender to make your milkshakes than I am here in NM trying to use one. Last night I went to make a smoothie in the blender. Only I forgot one very important aspect…putting the top on. I pushed “GO” and go it went, all over the place and of course then in my panic I could not figure out which button said stop. Ice went everywhere!!! And all I could think of was the time Karen K. and I were babysitting either TJ or both you and TJ and we tried to make popcorn in that little tiny Burke kitchen and somehow popcorn flew EVERYWHERE it was allover. Wishing you a better day and a good night with good dreams that come true. Sara
Hi Jacquie and Sharon too! Congratulations on making your goal of tem miles!!! There is no doubt in my mind that you will reach all of the goals you set for yourself!!! That is just you ! And you will reach your goal of beating cancer!!! Clapping Praying Believing Missy
JAX (soon to be cancer beater!)…well, by doing the 10 laps for your dad on fathers day I’m sure there was no better gift that could’ve been given than the strength and courage you find within yourself to fight – not just for you, but for everyone else that prays to god they could take some of the pain away from you and put it on themselves. No one deserves to feel like this, but you are doing one heck of a job fighting it – better than I can say I would ever do! I can’t believe how much you’ve grown and how far you’ve come – I swear there are only blue skies and easy sailin ahead of you so hang in there and keep your head up! Besides, its weird to hear you don’t have an appetite…so we KNOW that will be fixed ASAP! Just think about the 4th of july, it makes me want a hot dog real bad! I LOVE YOu very much. The always believing, Nicole Mary
I want the ALL to get the heck out of your life too!!! You are doing incredible things over there Hirsch, and have an army behind you. I am constantly thinking about you, and have all my social work friends praying something fierce for you!!! Keep up that determination, and let your frustrations out, maybe you can scare the ALL out of you by showing it how mad you can get? i mean, I’m no doctor, but it could work? =) Always BELIEVING in you… xoxo
well i didnt think id have to explain this but some of you are a bit slow on the draw(sara) jacquie is having a tough time eating and cant find anything very appealing…so i said meat loaf meatloaf meatloaf…i lovely plate of hospital grade meatloaf smothered in some sort of brown sauce, that is luke warm to cold is all she needs…a belly full of that and she is on her way…she knows this works, but she is determined to go a different route with her food… alicia asked what kind of reality show i wanted…simple…meatloaf meatloaf meatloaf… some possible titles include, but in no way are limited to… two and a half meatloafs the amazing meatloaf as the meatloaf turns american meatloafs meatloaf or no meatloaf the biggest meatloaf the cbs evening meatloaf with katie couric and my favorite, sponge bob square meatloaf so if that doesnt clear it up for most of you(sara) you are on your own… jacquie, i hope in some small way this puts a smile on your face, or for a minute or two you forget what you are fighting, and have a laugh…if it ever gets too much for you, and you get tired of hearing the jokes and rants about MY t-shirts and all the stuff with alicia, dont complain cause we wont listen anyway… xoxomps
Wow- that is awesome you finished the laps! Hang tight, hang in and keep up the fight…you are getting there and you WILL get there!!! We believe in you and your family! Love, Sara and family
Hi Jacquie, Just thinking about you (one of the many moments throughout the day that I am found thinking about you and your family in some way). Hoping today was a decent Monday for you with lots of ups! So what do you think 3 meatloafs in a row mean? I am thinking Michael wants a cooking show. Now that might work, he has been known to cook well and his humor and charisma would help on camera. BUT knowing him he is thinking more like all the different things you can do with meatloaf. By the way Michael: I think Alicia is still buying the bulk of the t- shirts in NY, (probably decorating her house with them a slipcovered chair, a toilet seat cover, pillow cover, the possibilities are endless). Continue to take care of you and hellos to your family. Sending some strength and courage your way. Love, sara
Jax – You are amazing, I can’t believe how close you are to completeing your laps. Keep fighting you are such an inspiration and I admire your strength everyday. Think about you and praying for you. love you!
Hi Jacquie, Sending you prayers of strength and postive thoughts to continue your winning fight! Keep doing the GREAT job your doing with those laps!!! Clapping Praying BELIEVING Missy
hi jacko!! hope today winds up being a good day for you. i’m really trying to build up enough courage to be one of those green stickies on the bags for you (blood type A+ is probably the only time i will ever see an A on anything.. sigh haha).. but i had to be carried to a cot by two large attendants the last time i gave blood and then proceeded to faint in the shower and have to be dragged out by my mother. how embarassing. but ask her – it really happened lol. ughh i miss you so much! i heard justine is going up soon and i am sooo excited for both of you! some day soon i will be able to come. however, ahem, i was already kind of promoted!!!! bc the head host is going to school or something who cares about the details but now i got a raise and will be working 5 days a week!!! nutttty. o yea and to add insult to injury… i am now starting to not only have the country music stuck in my head.. but I LIKE SOME OF THE SONGS. do you know the one that goes something like “I WANNAA LOVEEE LIKE JOHNNY AND JUUUNEE” <- that’s the only words i know for now.. but i’ll get back to you with more. miss ya something fierce over hurr jax. have you been watching the bachelorette? WE GOTTA TALK. hahaaa CRAZY ISNT IT????? (hi holly?) i feel like this post made like no sense and was all over the place but i just had to update you on all the things i’ve been meaning to say but haven’t written in the past few days. OH and have you been watching alot of movies? bc i found this website to watch all sorts of movies on line FOR FREE and it’s watch-movies.net and it’s just great. some of the movies arent top-of-the-line quality but most are pretty watchable and they have every movie you can imagine EVEN the ones that are out right now!! so you can bring the movies to your hotel (hospital) room. love you sooo much, jacqueline. keep on keepin on. <3 your little.
Hi Jacquie: We hope you are having a good day today. It is very difficult to read your updates and know that you are not feeling your best. It is so unfair that you have to go through this for a second time. However, we know that before long you will start having all fantastic days. You are a fighter and we know you will win this battle also. We think and pray for you daily. We hope you had a good time with your dad on Father’s day. You have a wonderful family whose love for you is amazing. Keep up the fight and know that we are all waiting for the day you are cured. We love you. Athena, Al, Adriana & Stephanie
Hi Jax! It was sure nice to see you. I hope today was better than yesterday and tomorrow will be even better still. We arrived home safely and have spent the day celebrating fathers day. I love your new house and cannot wait for you to enjoy it. Stay strong and know how many people are praying for you. You are an angel. Love you!
Man on Man, more laps down, that is absolutely fabulous!!! The good news, is that with your outdoor pass, you’ll be able to enjoy the summer weather ( that is vs. the crappy rainy weather we had in NYC!), so your timing is perfect. One day at a time and you are getting there! I’m sending you more strength over the line, good karma with red, and always love to you, your Mom, your Dad,… Happy Fathers Day Tor, and that great big brother of yours!!! Lots of love, Aunt Indie
Hi Jacquie and Sharon…………I am praying for all of you and as I enjoyed my family today………I believe that soon your family will be whole again….so many people are praying and BELIEVING……….Love Pat C
HEY JAX!! I cannot wait till you make the 330 laps and get to tell the Dr. that he can see you at home!! I’m sooo very proud of you! You are doing fabulously and I know you won’t let one crappy Saturday get you down!! I’m going to bed tonight praying that you have a fantastic week that is full of visitors and food and walks outside!! (remember to wear your spf 50) I love you!! Ashley ps. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY MR. HIRSCH!
p.s. Michael, what do you want your reality show to be premised around? That idea for “celebrity circus” and “I survived a Japanese game show” have already been scooped up by station execs, so I am not sure what is left. And your tee shirt sales in AZ may have been less than stellar, but they are BOOMING here in New York!!! thanks to me and my wonderful PR skills haha
hey there tink, hoping today is a much better day and you get to walk in the little park your mom spoke of…wishing you all that is bright and sparkly today. with love and belief, aunt val
Hi Jacquie, I was just able to get caught up on the past couple days. Oh I really hope you get to go outside and I hope the sun will shining and the weather in Buffalo cooperating. That fresh air will feel so great. And it is another step! So glad you are able to have all your friends and family visiting, that has to help pass the moments and build your heart back up a bit. Keep walking!! Keep on fighting! I sure do hope you are feeling better today then yesterday, sounds like it was a pretty rough start to the day for sure, for both you and your mom. Hang in there and feel better!! Wishing your dad a special day today with you, for Father’s Day. Miss you Sharon, always holding you close in my heart. Take care of you Jacquie and hope it is a full day of good moments!! Love, Sara
Hi Jacquie! You are just amazing!!!!! Way to do those lapS Go Jacquie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Fathers Day TORY!! You are a wonderful Dad!!Clapping Praying BELIEVING MISSY
Hey Jax. I haven’t written in a while, though I stop by every day. I just wanted to let you know we’re still praying, hoping, believing that you will make it through this ultimate challenge. It can’t be easy for you to keep the fight going every day. When things seem to be too hard, please remember we’re here to support you, your Mom and Dad, and TJ. You guys are always in our hearts.Remember- you run the show. (I believe this is the same dating advise you gave to Megan) Don’t let the evil push you around!!!Have a Happy Father’s Day with your Dad- I think you might be able to take him in laps! 🙂
Hi Jax, how have you been?! By reading your updates you seem like you are constantly fighting and ready to get rid of this! I hope to read on the updates that you have plenty more good days than bad. Just keep fighting and know that there are sooooo many people here at home praying for you and who love you so much! I am so happy to hear that you are doing better and keep it up! I know you can :] WE BELIEVE!!! ~Natalie Maranto
hi beauty, a quick hello and the promise to always think of you and pray for you and believe for and in you….. sara, the kids, and i saw your mom and sue yesterday, as i am sure your mom shared. it was a treat for us, only to be better when you can join us!!! there were a few ’good’ moments: like when gia, elise and connor let shelby out… and tj had to run after her!!!! fortunately he is a fastrunner! ?? or else shelby is really slow. then they fed her treats to the point we thought she might blow up! then there was the ’moment’ gia and elise tried to get into the hammock together, round it went and they both landed on the ground [laughing thank goodness]. connor loved the swing and managed to avoid getting into trouble. oh yes, in the midst of this, uncle bob showed up and i will say,in the nick of time. he helped tj put together your mom’s chaise and tj and sue carried it upstairs. we are all anxiously awaiting the call to come see your mom lounging on it with you sitting on her bed laughing at the site of her ’lounging’. she’d be cute for sure!!! we love you dear girl….. stay the course love, aunt val sue and sara loved your house and they really enjoyed catching up after all these years!
working on saturday…nothing like how you are working everyday… temps going up 110, 112, 112 next three days…so you can follow with your #’s too…keep it going alicia, i need a reality show so get working on it for me please…jacquie is just fine with you working for me, i asked her…and i think my t-shirt sales are falling off…only three sold so far and all to me…whats up? strength to the hirsches… fight jacquie

hi jacko!! hope today winds up being a good day for you. i’m really trying to build up enough courage to be one of those green stickies on the bags for you (blood type A+ is probably the only time i will ever see an A on anything.. sigh haha).. but i had to be carried to a cot by two large attendants the last time i gave blood and then proceeded to faint in the shower and have to be dragged out by my mother. how embarassing. but ask her – it really happened lol. ughh i miss you so much! i heard justine is going up soon and i am sooo excited for both of you! some day soon i will be able to come. however, ahem, i was already kind of promoted!!!! bc the head host is going to school or something who cares about the details but now i got a raise and will be working 5 days a week!!! nutttty. o yea and to add insult to injury… i am now starting to not only have the country music stuck in my head.. but I LIKE SOME OF THE SONGS. do you know the one that goes something like “I WANNAA LOVEEE LIKE JOHNNY AND JUUUNEE” <- that’s the only words i know for now.. but i’ll get back to you with more. miss ya something fierce over hurr jax. have you been watching the bachelorette?

Lots of love, Aunt Indie

Love, Sara

hi beauty, a quick hello and the promise to always think of you and pray for you and believe for and in you….. sara, the kids, and i saw your mom and sue yesterday, as i am sure your mom shared. it was a treat for us, only to be better when you can join us!!! there were a few ’good’ moments: like when gia, elise and connor let shelby out… and tj had to run after her!!!! fortunately he is a fastrunner! ?? or else shelby is really slow. then they fed her treats to the point we thought she might blow up! then there was the ’moment’ gia and elise tried to get into the hammock together, round it went and they both landed on the ground [laughing thank goodness]. connor loved the swing and managed to avoid getting into trouble. oh yes, in the midst of this, uncle bob showed up and i will say,in the nick of time. he helped tj put together your mom’s chaise and tj and sue carried it upstairs. we are all anxiously awaiting the call to come see your mom lounging on it with you sitting on her bed laughing at the site of her ’lounging’. she’d be cute for sure!!! we love you dear girl….. stay the course love, aunt val sue and sara loved your house and they really enjoyed catching up after all these years!
