Jacquie’s ‘Team in Green’
The Ride for Roswell is an annual celebration of community support for Roswell Park Cancer Institute and its core mission to understand, prevent, and cure cancer. The Ride is a year-round fundraising program for the Institute that culminates in a celebratory cycling event every June! It is a safe and healthy day of cycling fun for riders, teams, cancer survivors, and supporters. The Ride for Roswell offers a distance for any type of rider. Participants can choose to ride from a variety of mileage routes.
Team Jacquie For A.L.L. was started in 2008 with 30 riders raising $13,000. In 2009, our first ride in Jacquie’s memory, the team had 81 riders and raised an incredible $26,500! It was at the 2009 Ride where all funds raised by Jacquie’s team began to be directly donated to The Jacquie Hirsch Leukemia Research Fund, as they still are to this day. In 2010, our 95 riders won the award for Overall Best Ride T-Shirt, in addition to again raising more than $25,000. As of 2015’s Ride Jacquie’s team has raised a total of nearly $160,000! We hope to continue making a large impact on the Ride, bringing awareness to Roswell and its mission.
There are plenty of ways to join us on the Ride; Please Save the Date for June 25, 2016 to ride with us or make a donation to our team as soon as fundraising begins. Any questions can be directed to our Ride Team Captain Kristen Fahnestock at firstname.lastname@example.org.
